Four Gangsters Killed in Early Morning Shootout

Nakuru residents woke up to a fierce shoot out between the police and gangsters which left four of the suspects dead.

The Monday morning incident took place at the KFA roundabout when police who had laid an ambush cornered the suspects.

The police had been acting on a tip off from members of the public who described the vehicle that the gangsters used for transport.

The gang of six opened fire when the officers asked them to stop, giving rise to heavy exchange which saw four suspects, including a woman die on the spot.

The driver of the vehicle sped off, fleeing the scene as soon as the shoot out began.

Two other suspects escaped with bullet injuries.

Police recovered two toy pistols and a Somali sword from the scene.

The six member gang said to have terrorized residents by targeting motorists in Nakuru town and its environs.

Speaking to The Nation, Nakuru Divisional Police Commander Bernard Kioko confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to share information they might come across concerning the whereabouts of the escaped suspects.

Police have launched a manhunt for the two.
