Four men who could not access their usual local brew in Nyahururu, Nyandarua county on Sunday collapsed due to extreme withdrawal symptoms.
This follows the destruction of 50,000 bottles of second generation alcohol in an exercise led by area MP Wachira Karani.
The men had to be rushed to hospital after home remedies including giving them milk failed to revive them.
Speaking to The Star, a medic from the hospital confirmed that the four addicts are in stable condition as they continue to receive treatment.
The nationwide crackdown on illicit brews was launched after increased complains of the alcohol destroying the lives of youth.
The crackdown has, however, elicited mixed reactions as many question the manner in which the operations are being carried out.
Various fronts have also pointed out the need for rehabilitation centers, as stories of addicts suffering withdrawal symptoms continue to emerge.
