Gakuyo Real Estate Owner David Ngari Responds to Theft Accusations

Controversial Bishop David Ngari alias Gakuyo has been forced to respond to accusations that he misappropriated funds invested in a SACCO he owns to fund his campaigns.

Gakuyo was outraged by the claims made by a former Kameme FM presenter published by a local tabloid. The presenter claimed that the Bishop's SACCOheaded for collapse and investors were on their way out.

The clergyman-turned-politician maintained that the allegations were untrue and that they were intended to injure his reputation and bring down his church.

"I am your Bishop. I have not stolen anything. My hands are clean. If you hear contrary rumours spreading, know that is a plot hatched to finish me," he stated.

Gakuyo was speaking during a rally where he, Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu and his running-mate Dr James Nyoro launched a three-person Waititu team dubbed United for Kiambu.

In December 2016, the Bishop, who is eyeing the Kiambu Governor seat, sparked mixed reactions after claiming during a radio interview that he doesn't listen to Opposition Chief Raila Odinga the same way he wouldn't listen to the devil.

"I don't listen to Raila Odinga same way I don't listen to the devil.

“The church must be used to bring down Raila and rescue Luo Nyanza from Railaism. If you find Raila in heaven you should know you are not in heaven," the bishop said during the show.

In February this year, the Bishop was in trouble for allegedly faking his academic papers in order to acquire a degree that would have allowed him to run for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
