Gangster Killed During Shootout Near Capitol Hill

A suspected robber was killed on Tuesday night during a shootout near Capitol Hill which houses CORD leader Raila Odinga's office.

In the 8 pm incident, two gangsters are said to have been stealing from members of the public around the area while armed with a pistol.

Police officers patrolling the area were informed of the thugs and immediately swung into action sparking a fierce shootout.

The officers managed to overwhelm the robbers killing one while the other escaped. They also recovered the pistol from the deceased.

“The thugs fired at the police, who fired back. One managed to escape. A home-made pistol capable of firing and two rounds of ammunition were recovered from the slain suspect,” stated the authorities.

On the same night, two other robbers who were spotted stealing from pedestrians were killed following a shootout with patrol officers in Dandora.

The officers ambushed the robbers - two men and a woman - prompting them to fire at the officers. In the ensuing exchange, they two men were killed while the woman slipped away.

After the incident, a revolver, bullets and two knives were recovered from the slain thugs.
