Gideon Moi and Isaac Ruto Convene Meeting to Weaken DP William Ruto's Influence in Rift Valley

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto on Monday convened a meeting where they vowed to unite and weaken Deputy President William Ruto’s influence in the Rift Valley region.

Moi, who has been a fierce critic of DP Ruto, firmly stated that they would ensure KANU and Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) Party win majority seats during the August 8 election.

"I want to assure residents of Rift Valley that Kanu and CCM will work hand in hand in ensuring that we deliver majority of the seats. Those claiming we do not have support in the region will be in for a rude shock when the last vote is cast and counted," Mr Moi stated.

On the other hand, Governor Ruto stated that they would shock the DP and expose how much he was hated in the region.

"Some known leaders in Rift Valley have been claiming they have a control of the voters in the region and that they will herd them to vote in a particular manner. But we are here to dispel that claim and tell the world that the people have shifted their support away from the center," Ruto was quoted.

The two leaders received Narok West MP Patrick ole Ntutu, who decamped from Jubilee to CCM.

Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno, who also ditched the ruling coalition, alleged that he shifted because of DP Ruto.

"Those of us who are here ran away from Jubilee because of the habit of the DP to impose leaders on the people while undermining the elected ones,” Mr Ngeno said.

The leaders vowed to unite against Ruto and prove to him that he does not own the Kalenjin community as he thought.
