Governor Ragwa Receives Death Threats

Tharaka-Nithi Governor Samuel Ragwa on Sunday recorded a statement with police officers after he received death threats from unknown people.

Speaking during a fundraiser at Marimanti Catholic Church in his County, Ragwa divulged that he received a text message on his mobile phone which assured him that he will not live for more than two months.

"I have been assured that I will not survive more than two months," Mr Ragwa stated.

The Governor also claimed that some goons blocked his vehicle on Friday during Deputy President William Ruto's visit to the region.

"My security was completely compromised on Friday....my vehicle was blocked by goons," Ragwa disclosed.

The Governor urged police officers to immediately commence investigations and arrest the culprits.

A section of Legislators allied to the Governor urged police to thoroughly investigate the matter without taking any detail lightly.

On November 15, 2016, Nyali MP Hezron Awiti claimed his life was in danger.

Awiti disclosed that unknown people in two vehicles had been trailing his movements and recorded a statement with police in Mombasa County.
