Here is What Angry Kenyans Supporting Teachers Are Saying

The Government's stern order to close all public and private schools has ignited reactions from Kenyans who have expressed their immense support for the teachers on strike asking the government to solve the educational crisis.

The directive issued on Friday required all schools to be closed on Monday September 21 with only the candidates for this years national examinations expected to remain in school.

Despite threats by the Teachers Service Commision to suck all teachers engaged in the industrial action the tutors have refused to resume duty until they are paid their 50-60 percent pay increment as ordered by the Court.

President Uhuru Kenyatta however stated that the demands of the teachers were unsustainable and the government was not in a position to pay them.

The strike enters the fourth week on Monday.
