I Washed Snakes, Applied Lotion and Fed Them - House help

A house help in Eldoret town on Monday attracted a crowd at a bus station after she publicly revealed that her employer had been forcing her to feed, wash and apply lotion on snakes.

The girl identified as Jane Nafula, was at the Turkadero bus stop in Eldoret town after escaping from her employer's home where she was doing the bizzare job.

According to Nafula who hails from Trans Nzoia County, she was looking for a job three days ago when she came across a woman who offered her an opportutnity to take care of her 5 children for Sh8,000 per month.

It was only after reporting to the woman's home at Eldoret's Elgon View Estate that she realised that the job was to take care and feed 5 snakes. She however did her job for the 3 days, before she escaped.

“The woman called the snakes her children and at times she called them god. I used to wash them and apply lotion, especially at the tail,” The Star quotes Nafula.

The young girl narrated her experience to the crowd of matatu operators telling them how she used to feed the snakes.

“I was required to feed the five snakes porridge and cooked bananas,” she stated.

Citizen Digital reports, that the agitated matatu operators threatened to storm the woman's house. They however, decided to fundraise for the girl's bus fare before taking her to the police station.

Police are yet to issue a statement on the matter.
