IG Boinett Warns Dealers and Users of Armoured Vehicles

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett has cautioned dealers and users of armoured vehicles.

In an advertisent in the local dailies, Boinett warned of possible arrest on dealers and users who don't seek approval.

According to the IG, owners ,dealers, manufacturers and importers must inform his office as well as the Kenya Revenue Authority.

He maintains that the import and sale of armoured vehicles is strictly regulated, noting that violators will be punished.

The advert highlights that all armoured vehicles must meet requirements of the newly enacted Security Laws (Amendment) Act 2014 which states that such vehicles must have special certificates from the government.

High profile government and business personalities are known to use armoured vehicles.
