A Madrassa teacher alleged to have defiled nine of his students in Lamu County is on the run.
Residents blamed the police for not ensuring his immediate arrest after the accusations were made.
Lamu Women Representative Shakil Abdalla, faulted area leaders for not doing enough to curb the rise of rape and defilement cases in the County.
According to Citizen Digital, Lamu West Member of Parliament Julius Ndegwa, gave the police one week to catch the suspect.
This incident happened barely days after a Sunday School teacher was arrested in Nakuru for sexually assaulting 15 underage boys.
35-year-old, David Mugo was detained at the Elburgon police station after the parents of his victims aged between 9 and 13 stormed his house.
Medical practioners in charge of the case said that investigations were ongoing and the exact nature of the offence would be determined after medical assessment.
