Jackson Kibor Accused of Shooting at His Son Ezekiel Kibor Over Land Dispute

Police are reportedly investigating veteran Eldoret politician Jackson Kibor who is alleged to have shot at his son three times.

The 86-year old is said to have been engaged in a land tussle with the son identified as Ezekiel Kibor before shooting at him, missing him by a whisker.

According to Ezekiel, his father found him supervising work at the disputed 200-acre piece of land which he says is registered under his name.

“The portion of land where he found me is registered in my name and he knows it yet he doesn’t want me to use it. Were it not that the gun failed I would be dead because he fired directly at me with the intention to kill,” he was quoted by the Star.

A video believed to have been captured during the incident shows an elderly man in an open farm holding a firearm while walking towards another person standing at a distance.

The man thought to be Mzee Kibor then abruptly points his gun towards the other individual seemingly firing gun shots. The victim then quickly dashes away to avoid being shot.

Ezekiel stated that he had filed a report at Eldoret Police Station but accused the authorities of going slow in investigating the matter.

However, Uasin Gishu OCPD Joseph ole Kinne assured that the alleged incident would be conclusively probed.

Reached for comment, Kibor dismissed the allegations accusing his children of trying to attack him.

“I only removed the gun because my sons who were armed with machetes and rungus wanted to attack me. I have even reported the matter to the police," he affirmed.
