Jaguar to Be Arraigned in Court After Accident That Killed 2 People

Police have announced they will take action against musician Charles Kanyi, popularly known as Jaguar, after he was involved in a road accident that killed two people.

Investigations into the Tuesday incident which took place along the Sagana-Makutano road in Kirinyaga County, are said to be close to completion after which action would be taken.

According to police spokesman George Kinoti, the musician was being probed for causing death by reckless driving adding that he would soon be arraigned in court.

“The investigation file is almost complete. The car underwent inspection on Wednesday and was released to the owner. Initial indications are that the motorcyclist was hit from behind. He will be taken to court anytime,” he affirmed.

If charged with the offence, which could attract a 10-year jail sentence, the award-winning musician could also have his driving licence cancelled.

Jaguar's Range Rover hit and killed two residents who were riding a motorcycle in an accident that has sparked controversy following reports of a cover-up.

Witnesses at the scene claimed that the vehicle was being driven by a lady at the time of the incident before she exchanged seats with the musician.

However, the Starehe Parliamentary aspirant owned up to being behind the wheels dismissing the claims from the witnesses.
