Jeff Koinange in Trouble as Governor Kidero Takes Action

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has launched a complaint against KTN show host Jeff Koinange and the Standard Group Limited over Wednesday's Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show which hosted lawyer Miguna Miguna and businesswoman Esther Passaris.

In a letter from Mr Kidero's office, directed to the Media Council of Kenya Chairman Charles Kerich, the county boss cries foul of how Koinange has allegedly allowed Miguna to malign his name severally on the show.

“The host primed the interview and allowed Miguna Miguna to severally malign and libel me as a thief with abatement by the anchor and the KTN Television station of Standard Group by failing to adhere to professional journalistic requirement for adducement of evidence,” Kidero's letter read.

Governor Kidero stated that apart from the Wednesday night show which has become a subject of debate in the country after Miguna directed sexual slurs at Passaris, Koinange had on four occasions encouraged the aspiring Nairobi Governor to mudslinging his name.

“Not only did the anchor allow him to besmirch my character but urged him on to do so,” Kidero said.

Mr Kidero urged the MCK boss to act on the conduct of Koinange as a journalist and KTN as a media house. He further noted that he will be seeking legal redress on the matter.

Minutes after Kidero released the letter, Miguna responded stating: "The Dean of Looters Kidero Evans is misusing the Nairobi County letterhead for a PERSONAL complaint about KTN for allowing Miguna Miguna to MALIGN his name on Jeff Koinange Live."

Miguna has on different platforms blatantly accused Kidero of being a cartel in Nairobi, promising to evict him from office in the 2017 General Election.
