Joho Kicks Out Bodyguards After they Were Reassigned to him by State

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has kicked out security officers from his home after they were reinstated by the Government.

According to reports, the officers were chased away on Thursday immediately they arrived at Joho's house.

This comes barely hours after the Mombasa Governor announced on Wednesday that he no longer wanted State security.

“I want to put a stop to this conversation about security. I've asked Jubilee not to give me security,” Joho affirmed.

The Governor drove himself to CORD's meeting that took place on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya where he stated that he was comfortable without security.

However, Joho's communications director Richard Chacha, claimed that the officers were sent to the wrong house.

Chacha stated that his boss had moved a day after his security was withdrawn under unclear circumstances.

"Let them knock and ask who the new occupants are.... Joho has already hired another team for his new home," Chacha disclosed.

Joho's security detail was recalled last week on Friday after he accompanied ODM leader Raila Odinga to Ghana for the inauguration of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Meanwhile, Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa, stated that Joho's security was withdrawn as a standard procedure of re-organising security given to the governors.
