Joho, Mudavadi Meet in Mombasa County to Discuss Formation of NASA

It has now emerged that Governor Hassan Joho met Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi on Monday at Serena Hotel in Mombasa County as part of talks to build a united Opposition.

According to the aides of the two politicians, Joho and Mudavadi discussed a document that outlined the proposed National Super Alliance (NASA) strategy that is meant to unite all the Opposition leaders under one umbrella.

Confirming the meeting, the Mombasa Governor stated that they had a fruitful discussion on how to ensure NASA sends home the ruling coalition in the upcoming General Election.

“We had the opportunity to discuss several national issues, key amongst them the poor state of the nation under the Jubilee government and the unity of our coalition going into the next general election," the Governor stated in a Facebook post.

Joho added: “I greatly appreciate his efforts to reach out to all sections of the country and further encouraged him to ensure that no section of the Mulembe nation is left behind. It is important that we pursue this journey for a better Kenya with everyone on board.”

The meeting comes barely a week after Mudavadi was appointed the Luhya spokesman at a ceremony hosted by COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli in Kakamega County.

Mudavadi has been in Mombasa meeting opposition leaders across the County.

Meanwhile, the formation of NASA has gained momentum in the recent past after Mudavadi and ODM leader Raila Odinga announced they would form the alliance in February.
