    1. #JohotheDMinusGovernor

    Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was on the lips of many Kenyans after a KCSE certificate showing his alleged results was shared on social media.

    In the certificate supposedly belonging to the Governor, he is said to have scored an embarrassing D minus.

    Kenyans on Twitter took the opportunity to question the authenticity of his degree which has always raised qualms.

    A section expressed fear that Mr Joho would have his degree revoked following the recent announcement made by the Commission for University (CUE).

    2. Bomas of Kenya

    The Bomas of Kenya was top on the trends for the better part of the day following a meeting the National Super Alliance (NASA).

    Led by Opposition leader Raila Odinga, NASA was expected to bring together more than 4,000 opposition leaders who will declare political unity in a bid to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August General Election.

    3. Ambassador Paul Kurgat

    Amb. Paul Kurgat, one of the interviewees for the IEBC commissioners position was on the trending topic.

    Mr Kurgat, who has served as the Kenyan ambassador to the Russian Federation, was being interviewed by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC).

    During the interview, he proposed that IEBC ought to use braille in voting for the visually impaired.

    4. Lawyer Simon Lilan

    Lawyer Simon Lilan came into the limelight following the death of former Nominated MP Mark Too.

    On Wednesday, he was on the Kenyan trends after his mysterious disappearance. Earlier, Lilan had attempted to block the burial of Too on allegations that he could have been assassinated.

    The lawyer's brother disclosed that he disappeared after Too was buried on Monday and was last seen in Eldoret.

    "I tried calling him severally but his phone was switched off and that is when I realised that something was amiss. I went to his home and reported the matter to his wife.We have looked for him all over including at the homes of his relatives but he cannot be traced," stated the brother

    5. Police in Mombasa

    Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa's press statement on Wednesday morning set the stage for public debate.

    Mr Marwa was addressing the controversial withdrawal of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's bodyguard.

    In his address, he indicated that the bodyguards had been restored.

    Marwa also divulged that Joho's security was withdrawn because of a standard procedure of re-organising security, a move applied to all governors.
