Journalists Janet Mbugua, Anne Kiguta, Dann Mwangi, Mohammed Ali & Michael Gitonga Urge Kenyans to Register as Voters

As the second phase of the mass voter registration exercise enters day two, top Kenyan news anchors have also joined in the campaign by the IEBC - sending special messages to the public.

Maybe to use their influence to encourage responsible citizenship, the top anchors at Citizen TV, NTV and KTN have come out in rather interesting ways to urge the public to register as voters ahead of the August 2017 elections.

Celebrated Citizen TV anchor Anne Kiguta cautioned adults not to let their future be determined by others but should register as voters and be in control.

"Good morning! If you're 18yrs & over don't let others determine your future. Register as a voter today! #LastChance2017 #Kenya," Ms Kiguta tweeted.

Her colleague Janet Mbugua told Kenyans that: "Your Voice Matters #LastChance2017 #RegisterToVote."

On the other hand, NTV business anchor Dann Mwangi sent a screen shot of his verified registration particulars and posed: "Niko registered. Sembuse wewe? #ElectionsKE."

KTN investigative journalist Mohammed Ali, who is vying for the Nyali Parliamentary seat, made his stance against the ruling Government clear stating that Kenyans ought to register to ouster Jubilee from power.

KTN anchor and show host Mike Gitonga gave the public some wise words pointing out: "Have you registered to vote? Bad Leaders are elected by good citizens who do not vote."
