The Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB) will on Thursday deliver a ruling on a Sh2.5 Billion tender for the printing of ballot papers involving the Jubilee Party and the National Super Alliance (NASA).
The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD), now in NASA, had called for a review of the tender the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) awarded to Al Ghurair, a Dubai printing firm after it was challenged by another firm that participated in the process.
"We are warning that we are not ready to participate in choreographed elections with predetermined outcome designed for the survival of an incumbent facing a possible election disaster due to a long story of being surrounded by lieutenants with long hands," warned the Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed, who is from an affiliate party in the NASA Coalition.
The ruling party responded by accusing the Opposition coalition of attempting to blackmail the Government and electoral officials in the IEBC leading to a war of words between the rivals.
The country's two main political outfits yesterday sought to have the High Court issue an injunction barring them both from further participation in the case, citing that Media attention may affect the case.
The ruling is yet to be delivered.
