Jubilee Appeals Tribunal Gives Jaguar Starehe Nomination Certificate

Jubilee Party's Appeals Tribunal has finally declared musician Charles Njagua popularly known as Jaguar the winner of the contested Starehe constituency parliamentary nominations.

The Tribunal which has been hearing close to 500 appeals ruled in favour of the musician who had protested the announcement of incumbent Maina Kamanda as the winner.

According to a ruling made by the party, enough evidence had been presented to prove that Jaguar had won in most of the polling stations but the numbers were altered at the tallying centre.

The Party overturned the results announced by the Returning Officer, nullified Kamanda's win and handed Jaguar the nomination certificate.

He will now fly the Party's flag against ODM's Steve Mbogo and human rights activist Boniface Mwangi, who are also contesting for the Starehe seat.

Supporters of the celebrated artist have been camping outside the Jubilee headquarters maintaining that he had won the primaries and should be handed the certificate.

On Saturday, Jaguar declined an offer extended to him by Kamanda for them to negotiate in order to resolve the matter.

He insisted that he had clearly won the nominations adding that he would accept nothing short of the nomination certificate.
