Jubilee Nairobi Branch Chairman Sanctus Ndegwa Apologises Over Chaos by Sonko-Peter Kenneth Supporters

The Jubilee Party has been forced to apologise following a chaotic clash between supporters of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and fellow gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth during a football match.

Jubilee Nairobi branch Chairman Sanctus Ndegwa on Monday evening apologised for the ugly scene witnessed on Sunday in Dagoretti South constituency where gunshots were fired.

Ndegwa regretted that the situation went out of hand and degenerated into violent confrontations noting that the supporters of the two camps should have exercised restraint to avoid the clash.

"We are sorry to the people of Dagoretti over what happened. Our desire as a party is to see unity amongst all the aspirants," stated Ndegwa.

The Chairman called for peaceful campaigns as the General Election approaches urging leaders to exercise mature politics.

"Let us exercise maturity in our politics and respect each other so that we can get votes everywhere in Nairobi. We call for peaceful campaigns since we in JP are peaceful and are known for peace," he promised.

Mr Ndegwa promised that the party was working around the clock to ensure it gets an aspirant who will face incumbent Evans Kidero.

On Sunday, angry youth engaged in a fight after Senator Sonko stormed a football event graced by Kenneth who was the main guest.

The whole forum was thrown into a limbo when followers of the leaders descended on each other as bodyguards of the two pulled out their guns to try and calm the situation.
