Jubilee Party Appeals Tribunal Delivers Verdicts for 107 Nomination Disputes

The Jubilee party Appeals Tribunal has issued verdicts for 107 of the 508 nomination dispute cases received from the just concluded party primaries.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, the tribunal's chairperson Faith Waigwa conveyed that the verdicts so far included dismissal, re-tallying and fresh nominations.

In Uasin Gishu, for example, a fresh nomination exercise will be carried out for Munyaka polling station after irregularities were experienced for the parliamentary aspirants' results.

"We could not clearly tell what transpired in Munyaka polling station, so we have called for fresh nominations in that polling station which should be carried out no later than May 3," the chairperson directed.

The party official noted that the tribunal would not accept any more submissions as they were working to conclude the cases already presented by Saturday.

Aspirants who have so far been questioned by the panel include Kirinyaga governor aspirant Anne Waiguru, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos, Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh, Nairobi Women Rep aspirant Millicent Omanga and Starehe Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda.

Both complainants and the accused expressed confidence in being issued with the nomination certificate.
