Jubilee Party Refutes Claims It Vandalized Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto’s Posters Ahead Of Deputy President William Ruto Visit

The ruling party, Jubilee, has dismissed claims that it allegedly vandalized posters belonging to Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

Speaking ahead of Deputy President William Ruto’s visit to the county today, the party’s county chair Bernard Mutai, refuted claims by Governor Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) that its posters were being pulled down in Bomet.

Mutai dismissed the allegations as baseless propaganda from the Chama Cha Mashinani opponents who were out to create unnecessary anxiety ahead of DP Ruto’s visit today.

"Jubilee cannot engage in such petty affairs. We, as a party with strong membership in this region, do not feel threatened in any way by any other party. So why would we remove their posters?"Said Mutai.

He added that Jubilee had not seen any posters put up by the CCM in Bomet and if any banners had been removed, they belonged to Jubilee and were just being replaced ahead of the DPs visit.

The chair cautioned the CCM leadership for instigating animosity to gain political mileage through flimsy and falsified accusations that their CCM campaign materials had been vandalized.

He highlighted that the party cannot engage in primitive acts of stripping down posters of their opponents and asked those with evidence to come forward.

Deputy President William Ruto’s visit comes in the wake of a meeting that brought together over 5,000 Chama Cha Mashinani party delegates who met at the county last week to deliberate on the party’s future.

According to sources, the visit by the DP is meant to assure the South Rift electorate that they were still a united front ahead of the August polls despite the clawing of the political base by his his arch rival in the region, Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.
