Jubilee Raises Sh715 Million as Nomination Fees

The Jubilee Party is said to have received Sh715 Million from its aspirants ahead of the upcoming nominations.

The Party which recently concluded enlisting of aspirants for various positions bagged the money from the over 6500 leaders who are set to battle it out in the primaries.

The money is said to have been paid by the 106 aspirants for governor's position, 1,006 for MP, 161 for senator, 171 woman representative and 6,568 hopefuls for County Assembly representatives.

According to the party, it had already presented to the IEBC, names of all aspirants interested in the six positions with the primaries set for April 21.

Jubilee plans to field candidates in all positions apart from five gubernatorial seats, three woman representatives, two senate and 29 parliamentary ones.

Gubernatorial aspirants vying under Jubilee were charged Sh500,000 for the party ticket, senators, woman representatives and MPs parted with Sh250,000 while MCAs paid Sh50,000.

Jubilee is set to conduct its one-day nominations on April 21 after which names of successful candidates will be submitted to IEBC.
