Kalonzo Will be Given Powerful Position in Jubilee - CS Balala Says

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has said that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will be given a ‘powerful position’ in Jubilee if he agrees to ditch the Opposition ahead of the August 8 Election.

Speaking in Narok County on Wednesday, Balala claimed that Musyoka would never be the flagbearer of the National Super Alliance (NASA) adding that the only way he would be in government was through the ruling coalition.

“NASA came with Musalia Mudavadi, chances for people like the former vice-president, Kalonzo Musyoka, to get a position are very slim. Come to Jubilee and you will get a position,” Mr Balala said.

The CS also took a swipe at Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho stating that he was making "too much noise" and "fighting many wars" with the government as development in his county stalled. He claimed that Joho had failed to initiate any developmental projects in Mombasa.

Balala's sentiments come a few days after Joho sharply criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for announcing war on drugs in Mombasa County.

The Governor attacked Uhuru and Ruto claiming the fight on the illicit trade was insincere and that they were only politicizing and targeting politicians from the Coast region.

"Jubilee should first clear their house before coming here to talk about drugs. This is just for campaigning and nothing else,” Joho stated.
