Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga Exposes Gang Being Trained by Police in Homa Bay County

Kasipul Member of Parliament (MP) Oyugi Magwanga has claimed that a group of youth are being trained in Homa Bay County by ex-police and military officers to cause violence during the 2017 Elections.

Speaking during a public forum, Mr Magwanga alleged that the youth are being trained on how to use guns and fight in favour of some politicians in parts of Rachuonyo North and South sub-counties.

“I have credible information that the youths are being trained to cause violence during the elections,” the MP affirmed.

The legislator added: “I urge the police to move fast and close the camps, arrest and prosecute those behind the training. We do not want to lose people because of elections.”

The County Police Commander John Omusanga divulged that they had received reports of the gangs being trained and that they had launched investigations.

“We are treating the allegations as a serious matter. We are doing our investigation so that appropriate action is taken against the culprits,” the police boss said.

Mr Omusanga stated that they would investigate politicians to determine whether some of them were behind training of the goons.
