Kenya Government Servers Hacked

Confidential information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reportedly been leaked after the well known international network of activist and hacktivist identified as Anonymous compromised the Ministry's servers.

Anonymous indicated that it had accessed one Terabyte of the data which it will release in bits.

“We have 1TB of data but at the moment, we have leaked just one portion of it. In few days you will receive full disclosure of the data – We the Anonymous will stand against corruption, child abuse, and child labour! The government of Kenya should have expected,” Anonymous was quoted by HackRead.

The hacking was conducted under the banner of operation Africa (OpAfrica) which was launched in 2015 against child abuse, child labour and corruption in the African countries.

Among the information hacked into include email conversations, security related communication, international trade agreements and letters discussing the security situation in Sudan.

Anonymous was the same group that declared war on ISIS after the terror attacks on Paris and Brussels.

Efforts by Kenyans.co.ke to verify the information from the Ministry were unsuccessful as officials reached declined to comment on the matter.
