Kenya Will Burn if Anything Happens to Joho – Raila Warns

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday warned that Kenya would burn if any harm was to happen to Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

Speaking in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, Odinga reiterated his earlier claims that the Government was planning to assassinate Joho just like "what they did to the late [businessman] Jacob Juma".

"We have information that they want to do to Joho what they did to the late Jacob Juma. But let us warn them that Kenya will burn if anything happens to Joho," Raila stated.

During the same event, the former Prime Minister claimed that he had credible information that Jubilee was planning to rig the August 8 Election.

"We have credible information that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) is once again heavily involved in the on-going voter registration with the aim of influencing results in August in the same way it did in 2007 and 2013," Odinga said

The Opposition has been on an offensive against the government after the recent incident where the security detail of Governor Joho was abruptly withdrawn and replaced with new guards.

The Mombasa Governor, however, rejected the new bodyguards claiming the National Government intended to use them in spying on him.

Since the incident, Joho moved to a new home and hired his own security but declined to reveal to the State where he lives.
