Kenyans Rush To File Returns

The last minute rush that is slowly becoming synonymous with Kenyans was witnessed on Tuesday as many tried to file their returns within the stipulated time.

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) had given the deadline of midnight 30th June (Tuesday) as the final day in which all Kenyans were supposed to have filed their returns.

Long queues were seen in many Huduma centers in the country as most tried to beat the deadline.

In Nairobi, residents complained of the ineffectiveness of the filing systems, some terming the entire process as a waste of time.

Some complained of the hanging systems when they tried filing their returns online.

As a result they opted for the manual process.

KRA has issued a penalty of Sh 1,000 for every year anyone failed to file their returns.
