The Kenyan online fraternity was on Friday discussing various topics with Kiambu County being among the top trends.

Here is why these topics were trending.

Kilifi Governor's Nyali 

The subject quickly scaled up the trend ladder Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi reported that his Nyali home, in Mombasa, had been raided by unknown gangsters.

According to Kingi, the robbers broke into the house and made away with a laptop, electronics and other documents while he was asleep with his family.

Nobody was hurt during the incident.

Raila Presser

CORD leader Raila Odinga on Friday morning held a press conference at his Karen home where he claimed that the government had syndicated Sh83.2 Billion to international Bank loans " to plug the holes that their looting has created".

During the "state of corruption" address, Odinga claimed that he had crucial information that could badly embarrass President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The former Prime Minister urged President Kenyatta to look for him so that he can disclose the crucial details.

Kiambu County

The County was the subject of discussion because President Uhuru Kenyatta was to tour the area in his ongoing voter registration campaign.

The President is expected to urge the electorate to enlist as voters in large numbers as he continues to consolidate his support base ahead of the August 8 elections.

Cancer Bill

The topic started trending following reports that Parliament was seeking to enact a law that will ensure cancer treatment is included as the country's primary health care.

A majority of those who commented on the subject expressed hope that the Bill would help Kenyans who have been struggling with heavy medical expenses while seeking treatment, especially in India.

Shabaab

The country woke up to reports that Al Shabaab militants had launched a heavy attack on a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) base in Kulbiyow, Somalia.

The military confirmed the attacks stating that a fierce gunfight was still ongoing as the soldiers tried to take contain the situation.

However, the terrorists claimed that they had taken over the camp after killing dozens of the Kenyan servicemen, claims the military spokesman denied.

Meru

The topic was still trending on Friday morning following a dramatic scene which ensued on Thursday after a man clung on a helicopter carrying CORD leader Raila Odinga.

As Odinga was leaving Maili Tatu after a vote-hunt mission, the man grabbed and sat on the chopper's landing skip as it gained momentum and flew for some distance.

He later managed to leap off after the pilot noted his presence and lowered the plane.
