JKIA

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) became the subject of online discussion after the US Federal Aviation Administration granted it (JKIA) Category One status that allows for direct flights between Nairobi and America.

KANU

The KANU Party was Thursday afternoon trending after it officially announced it will be supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming August 8 General Election.

The announcement sparked debate among Jubilee and NASA supporters, considering KANU had earlier on showed signs of supporting the opposition.

Westgate

The Westgate Mall in Westlands, Nairobi, was on the top trending topics after the Kenya Films and Classification Board (KFCB) announced that it would be taking action following the public outrage sparked by America's Fox News Channel.

Fox used a clip from the 2013 Westgate Mall attack in the 4th episode of its new series, 24 Legacy, disguising it as a video shot in Egypt. The move sparked fierce reactions from Kenyans on Twitter who demanded an apology.

KFCB boss Ezekiel Mutua has demanded the withdrawal of the clip capturing the Westgate attack.

Treasury CS

National Treasury CS Henry Rotich sparked anger on social media after announcing that the 2013 CBA that has seen doctors remain on strike for almost three months now was illegal, hence, a new pact ought to be formulated to include government offer.

Some Kenyans faulted CS Rotich arguing that how comes when MPs need to award themselves money the Treasury is always willing to make the pay enhancements.

The much-disputed 2013 CBA was illegally signed by this man.

A group of men on Thursday afternoon ambushed a National Youth Service (NYS) lorry ferrying foodstuffs at Yatya, Baringo and forced personnel to offload consignment meant for displaced residents in the area.

The hashtag has been trending since Wednesday after the NASA principals Raila Odinga, Moses WetangulaKalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi signed the coalition agreement.

However, of interest to many people has been a photo that was taken during the signing of the agreement which captures the leaders in gloomy faces with the exception of Mudavadi. 

A section of the public has speculated that he could become the flagbearer based on the photo.

Kikuyu appeared on the trending topics after four people were found dead and abandoned in a saloon car at Gitaru area on Nairobi-Naivasha Highway.

Court of Appeal

The trend started after the Court of Appeal gave the Government & striking doctors seven more days to negotiate in a bid to end the strike which has lasted for more than two months. 

They will report back to court on March 2.
