Kiambu Governor William Kabogo Concedes Defeat to Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo issued a cryptic message moments after vote tallying in Jubilee Party started in his county, saying he wished Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu well.

Kabogo who was competing with Waititu for the Kiambu governship seat appeared to concede defeat after preliminary results indicated Waititu was headed for a major victory.

He was speaking to journalists at Oak Place in Kiambu where he stated that the nomination exercise was massively flawed but his efforts to report to higher authorities had proved futile.

He alleged that he had pointed out several irregularities ranging from disappearing ballot papers to partisan polling officers but Jubilee did nothing to curb the mess.

"It has been a long journey in Jubilee and I have done my best. It seems there are some huge powers that need to keep me away.

"Rumours are that I am a threat to someone. I do not know whether that is true...I want to say I don't agree with this nomination exercise. The petition is with the party, they can do whatever they deem fit to do," he stated.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Kiambu governor had bragged about his prowess in politics saying there was no way he would lose.

He stated that as a seasoned politician, he had done his “homework” well and would take the Jubilee Party ticket as soon as the exercise was over.

“I am not just any candidate, I am a seasoned candidate," he remarked confidently.
