KPA Fake Paper Holders to Face Consequences

Employees at the Kenya Ports Authority are an anxious lot, with many in fear of losing jobs, following fresh appraisal of their academic qualifications.

According to Standard Digital, so far, the management has compiled a list of 136 workers holding fake papers, although the names have not yet been handed over to the police.

The clean up exercise comes amid heavy criticism of malpractices and corruption, especially concerning the employment and promotion of employees at the authority.

Although there is a chance of the workers being investigated by police and consequently charged in court, the Dock Workers Union has asked that no charges be pressed against them, giving demotion as an alternative punishment.
