Kwale ODM Officials Accuse Joho of Attempting to Influence Party Nominations in the County

A section of ODM Party officials has sent a warning message to Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho over what they termed as an attempt to influence the party’s nominations in the Coast region.

Led by the Kwale ODM branch Chairman Hassan Mwanyogha, who is also the Matuga MP, the officials warned that Joho’s attempts to rig party nominations would be met with strong resistance.

The officials wondered why the coast region was given varying dates for the party primaries, claiming the move was a ploy by the Mombasa Governor to influence the process.

They demanded that the county nominations be postponed from April 7, which is a prayer day, to April 23rd such that they would be held on the same day with the other Coastal counties.

“We respect Joho as our deputy party leader but we are warning him our stay in the party is not absolute., if he wants to be President let it be but when he comes to Kwale he must respect keep off the internal affairs,” Mwambweni MP aspirant Omar Mbogo warned.

The officials called on their party leader Raila Odinga to heed their call and ensure they are allowed to inspect the party register before the nominations day.
