ODM leader Raila Odinga seems to have caused fresh trouble in the newly launched National Super Alliance (NASA) after a section of leaders from Western announced that luhyas would unanimously vote for Jubilee if he was made the Opposition flagbearer.
Led by Bumula Member of Parliamemt (MP) Boniface Otsiula, the leaders stated that Musalia Mudavadi or Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula ought to be the presidential candidate for the luhya community to support NASA.
"If none of our brothers is the opposition flag bearer, let no one come to Western and tell us to vote for Raila. We will be very bitter," the legislator affirmed.
Mr Otsiula observed that they had voted for Odinga since 2007 but had never witnessed any resuslts, adding that it was time they adopted a new strategy.
The MPs sentiments come barely a day after Opposition leaders led by Odinga, Mudavadi, Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka unveiled a 12-member team to officially register NASA and name its presidential candidate.
The team is also expected to come up with the structures of the new alliance after the leaders agreed to drop the name CORD and adopt NASA ahead of the August 8 election.
The leaders vowed to stay together irrespective of who is picked to be the flagbearer, in a bid to dethrone President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming polls.
