Make Kalonzo CORD Flag-bearer – Ngilu Tells Raila

Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has requested ODM leader Raila Odinga to shelve his presidential ambitions and make Kalonzo Musyoka the CORD flag bearer.

Speaking during a meeting in Kitui County on Tuesday, Ngilu stated that Kalonzo had the best chance of unseating President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 Elections.

“It is no doubt that among the three CORD co-principals, Kalonzo has all it takes to send the Jubilee administration home given his impeccable statesmanship and unblemished profile,” Ngilu said.

She added, “I believe he can beat UhuRuto hands down if accorded firm support by fellow opposition leaders and supporters.”

At the same time, Ngilu, who is eyeing the Kitui Gubernatorial seat, promised to back the Wiper Party leader urging him to also support her political bid.

“I wish to inform Kalonzo Musyoka that I will campaign for him as I seek Kitui governor’s seat. I hope that he will support my gubernatorial ambitions in return,” she said.

Meanwhile, Odinga, Kalonzo and Moses Wetangula are yet to decide on who will be the CORD flag bearer with all claiming that they are the best-suited candidates to face Kenyatta.

The matter could be more complicated after Odinga and Mudavadi agreed to form the National Super Alliance (NASA) and it now remains to be seen how the positions will be distributed among them.
