Among the entourage set to receive US President Barack Obama in Kenya is his grandmother- Mama Sarah Obama.
The elderly lady was scheduled to travel from her home in Kogelo- Siaya County to Nairobi on Thursday but her flight was rescheduled to Friday- at the US Embassy’s advice.
Obama also arrives in the country today.
Before traveling to Nairobi, Mama Sarah Obama- alongside Governor Cornel Rasanga launched the Siaya County Tourism and Cultural Expo.
This is despite confirmation from the embassy that Obama will not be visiting his ancestral homeland- Kogelo.
Residents expressed disappointment while some remain hopeful that the US President will find time off his schedule to pay a visit.
There are indications that Obama will hold a private meeting with his Kenyan family members in a private meeting, Citizen News reports.
The US president is expected to be in the country for three days.
