Kisumu town residents were Saturday treated to a rare spectacle when a man, suspected to have stolen a motorbike started eating soil.
The suspect walked the streets half naked, speaking incoherently, eating soil and carrying a sack of gravel as he pushed the stolen motorbike to a traditional witchdoctor.
The incident which took place at around 7 am, saw crowds follow the man who was making sounds similar to a motorbike.
According to The Star, a boda boda operator Geoffrey Otieno, the owner of the allegedly stolen motor bike said he sought the services of the witchdoctor after the theft since
the owner of the motorbike had given him a month to get it back.
The results were witnessed when the suspected thief took the motorbike to the witchdoctor, who broke the spell.
The mob, waiting outside turned on the suspect, intending to lynch him but the police intervened and saved his life.
He stays in police custody as investigation continue.
