Man Escapes Lynching After Killing Two Children

A man accused of allegedly killing his two children narrowly escaped death after angry residents in Uasin Gishu county attempted to lynch him.

Police rescued the 35 year old man from the mob that wanted justice after the man reportedly attacked  two of his children using a metal bar, killing them.

Area police boss Wilmot Mwakio confirmed the incident saying that the man identified as Kiprotich Kipchirchir escaped from his home in Kapilat after the murder.

Neighbors say that the man committed the crime after he came home and found his wife missing. In anger he hit the children and left them for dead while trying to escape.

The children's eight year old sister is said to have witnessed the entire incident.

Residents traced the man and started beating him mercilessly.

Police who arrived at the scene after being notified by members of the public, saved the man and took him to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Police say charges will be opened against him once he recuperates.
