Man Who Stabbed Starehe MP Maina Kamanda's Supporter to be Charged with Murder

Starehe Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda is expected to win big in court after a man who stabbed and killed one of his supporters is set to answer to murder charges at a Nairobi court today.

Police investigations found Daniel Kuria Ngariu culpable for stabbing George Ndege on the morning of April 26 while the deceased was pasting campaign posters for Mr Kamanda on the walls of buildings.

The accused was allegedly part of a group of armed youth who attacked the late Mr Ndege, inflicting serious injuries on his chest and lower jaw before he was hit by oncoming traffic at Pangani.

The assailants are said to have been putting up posters for Pangani Member of County Assembly Wahinya Njau.

A second man, Peter Muchiri, is also reported to have sustained injuries to his lower right leg during the altercation.

Both victims were rushed to hospital where Mr Ndenge was pronounced dead on arrival.

The courts on Friday denied a request from an investigating officer to have more time to investigate the matter and directed to have the hearing on May 2.
