Managing Editor at Standard Group Enoch Kiio Wambua Quits Media, Joins Politics

One of the senior editors at the Standard Group Limited, Enoch Kiio Wambua, on Wednesday quit his job at the media house to join politics.

Wambua, who was the Managing Editor of the Standard Group's weekend editions, divulged that he would run for the Kitui Senator position on a Wiper ticket.

Making the announcement, Wambua stated that he had served well in the mainstream media and that the time had come to serve his country at another level.

"I have diligently served my country at the very top of mainstream media for the last 16 years. In the course of my service, I have established a strong network of individual and corporate development partners at the county, national and global spheres. The time is ripe for me to tap into this network to serve my county and country as Senator of Kitui," Wambua said.

The former journalist will make his launch public on Thursday at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) where top leaders from CORD and top media personalities are expected to attend.

His colleagues at the Standard held a farewell luncheon in his honour on Tuesday where he assured them he was ready to serve the people of Kitui County if elected.
