Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid received a major boost after former presidential candidate Martha Karua pledged to support him fully
The Narc Kenya Leader noted that the Ruto had done ‘extremely’ well in uniting Kenyans at an hour of need and that she will fully back him.
“No one thought that Rift Valley can work with Central Kenya until William made it possible,” Karua highlighted.
Karua further highlighted that the Central Kenya communities should repay him by backing his presidential bid in 2022.
“We can only reward him by making him the boss in 2022. That is the spirit of nationhood,” she noted.
Karua has previously been linked with the opposition coalition but she dismissed the claims indicating that she was only a friend of the opposition but not a member of the team.
The former presidential candidate had been known to be a sharp critic of the President and his deputy but surprised many when she declared support for the president’s re-election bid.
Martha Karua will be vying for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial position on a NARC Kenya ticket in the August elections. Others contestants include incumbent Governor Joseph Ndathi and former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.
