Meru Businessman Buys Sh40 Million Hummer

A Sh40 Million Hummer said to have been imported from the United States on Thursday brought business to a standstill as it made its way into Meru town.

Residents of the town were left in awe as the H3 multi-million limousine crisscrossed the busy town with many thinking that it was in town for an event.

However, this was not to be the case as it later emerged that the machine belonged to one of their own, Zablon Mathenge, who is said to be a popular businessman in the area.

The new entrant reportedly caused anxiety with many closing their businesses to go have a glimpse of the vehicle.

Reports indicate that all motorcycle operators in the area had been booked to escort the new arrival to a venue where it was being celebrated and were each awarded Sh1,000 for joining the event.

In August, Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and Kiambu Governor William Kabogo caused drama while attending an event in Ruiru after they drove in with a military-like armoured vehicle.

It later emerged that the vehicle which was reportedly valued at around Sh20 Million belonged to the flamboyant governor.
