Mike Sonko Accuses Karanja Kibicho and Jubilee Vice Chairperson David Murathe of Frustrating Him

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko on Thursday morning proposed a new theory to his ongoing debacle with fellow gubernatorial aspirant, Peter Kenneth

Sonko now claims that Dr Karanja Kibicho, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, and Jubilee Party's Vice Chairperson, Mr David Murathe, have colluded to ensure that all aspirants for Nairobi County are members of their own tribe to favour Kenneth.

He accused the two of being behind the constant frustrations in his campaign efforts.

According to Sonko, Mr Kibicho and Mr Murathe are seeking to push him out of the party so that he can vie for Nairobi Governorship as an independent candidate. The controversial politician alleged that he had insiders within the National Intelligence Service (NIS) who were his informants.

He claimed that there was a plan to give direct nominations to aspirants of  a certain tribe within the party in the upcoming party primaries. He, however, warned the perpetrators that he would not be roped into tribal politics.

In a heated interview at Radio Maisha, Sonko invited his supporters to advice him on vying as an independent candidate, a call to which some responded:-

Sonko stressed that he would never let Kenneth take over the City's leadership because the former Gatundu MP had not done anything to build Nairobi.

The Jubilee Senator also remained adamant that he would not honour the alleged summons to appear before the party's disciplinary committee. He dared the party's secretary general, Mr Raphael Tuju, and the committee to disqualify him over the matter.

He threatened to leave the party if the frustrations persisted.

"Indeed, Jubilee party is not the only party, there are many parties to join. Let Tuju and the committee know that I will not appear before any disciplinary committee. Let them disqualify me if they want to," Sonko strongly insisted.
