Million Condoms to be Distributed in Nairobi During Global Summit

Plans to distribute one million condoms in Nairobi during the approaching global entrepreneurship summit are underway.

This is in preparation for an expected influx of commercial sex workers who will be seeking to take advantage of the large number of foreigners visiting Kenya because of the summit.

A safe sex activist- Stanley Ngara, the man behind the campaign, says the condoms will be distributed in strategic places around Nairobi.

He explains that the purpose of the condom campaign is to prevent transmission of HIV during the summit.

Speaking to The Star, Ngara confirmed that indeed,  Kenyans are embracing the move to protect themselves from sexually transmitted infections.

According to him, more than 14,000 condoms were distributed on Sunday at the KICC.

More than 5,000 guests are expected to grace the 6th Global Entrepreneurship Summit, scheduled for July 24 to 26 at Gigiri.
