Mombasa Executive Tendai Mtana Pleads with President Uhuru Kenyatta for Governor Hassan Joho

Mombasa Education Executive Tendai Mtana has pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta to treat Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho with the values of goodness and respect he was taught at the St Mary's High School.

Mr Mtana, who also schooled at St Mary's, described the President as a member of the privileged generation and asked him not to look down upon Governor Joho who he believes represents Kenyans from the less privileged backgrounds.

The education executive reminded the President of the values he was taught to uphold and beseeched him to employ them in his dealings with Joho.

"I am most privileged to have attended the same school as our President, and wish to address him as a fellow Saint where we were taught to uphold values of goodness, respect and knowledge in our lives above everything else," pleaded Mr Mtana.

The President was recently heard referring to Governor Joho as a 'mad man' whom he had already dealt with.

Mtana admonished those who were exploiting Joho's misfortune in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam for political reasons emphasising that the Governor had succeeded in life despite the poor results.

He asked the politicians not to lose perspective on what is important.

The education executive was addressing private school managers during their 20th annual conference in Mombasa on Wednesday.
