Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho Acquitted of Violence Charges by ODM Disciplinary Committee

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Disciplinary Committee has acquitted Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho of the violence allegations levelled against him.

In a press statement released on Wednesday by the Committee's Chairman Fred Athuok, the Governor will not be required to appear before the disciplinary committee anymore.

The Committee has, however, invited Migori Governor Okoth Obado, legislators Elizabeth OngoroT.J. Kajwang’ and gubernatorial aspirant Ochilo Ayako for a meeting with the Committee on Thursday at Orange House.

Mr Athuok noted that the meeting is meant to clarify issues raised in the statements made by the politicians.

The Chairman reiterated that a comprehensive statement on the findings of the committee would subsequently be prepared issued to the media.

The Disciplinary Committee recommended that Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong’ and Funyula MP Paul Otuoma be cautioned and adhere to the Code of Conduct which they both swore in their quest for the party ticket.

According to the team, the two should also undertake that there shall be no violence before, during and after the party nominations in the County and that they should restrain their supporters from acts of violence.
