Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho Blames Jubilee Party Politicians For Misleading Voters

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has torn into supporters of the Jubilee Party claiming that most of them have been duped to think Opposition Chief Raila Odinga is the source of their problems.

In an undated video that was shared online, Joho alleged that most people from Central Kenya would not vote for Odinga, not because he is a bad leader but because they think he will oppress them if he takes over power.

"If there's radicalisation or indoctrination, then our brothers from Central and Rift Valley are the most affected. I asked someone why they would not vote for a different candidate apart from President Uhuru Kenyatta and all they could say was, "he (Raila) is bad. If he gets power we will lose our cows and goats," he stated.

He went ahead to emphasise that local leaders had corrupted the minds of the voters and their sentiments had even discouraged some from setting up businesses.

"Politicians have misled people from those regions and have led to increased levels of poverty," he noted.

"Very few people in Central Kenya are rich because they think their problems have been caused by others yet the truth is their own leaders are the cause of their poverty," he added.
