Moses Kuria Attacked by Mau Mau Veterans

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria was on Saturday attacked by Mau Mau veterans and Embu Council of elders for dragging politics into the burial of National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi's Sister, Monicah Njoka.

According to the elders, the MP allegedly used the platform to dig graves for his percieved political enemies which was an act of disrespect to Muturii's family and the Embu Community.

“As they say, pray for your enemies to live a long life...but if this was a time when I was not saved, I would have wished that this burial was someone else's,” Mr Kuria said during the burial.

The elders, who were angered by the unwarranted political utterances at the funeral, and gave a stern warning to all leaders who spoke, saying they would not be allowed to Embu because of their foul tongues.

“The person that angers us the most is Moses Kuria because we know him very well. I don't know why his man cannot filter his words...We have even heard that he has a case in court because of his mouth. He should leave Embu alone,” warned one of the elders.

Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire was also attacked alongside Mr Kuria for using the platform to hint at her gubernatorial ambitions in 2017.

“She should shut up. Embu Belongs to Governor Wambora,” said another angered elder.
