MP Complains Over Chicken Served in Parliament

Endebess MP Robert Pukose complained bitterly over chicken served in Parliament after he purportedly saw the meat being delivered on a motorbike.

Pukose picked an issue with the standard of hygiene and quality of food served to the legislators citing: "Mr Speaker when meat is delivered using a motorcycle and is wrapped in polythene to the National Assembly it is worrying".

“Yesterday morning somebody delivered chicken for the Honourable Members, in a motorcycle from suspicious grounds. (The footage) is circulating within the social media and it is not good. Mr Speaker, I am raising a very serious issue that pertains to the health of the Honourable Members in this House,”  the MP was quoted by Capital News.

However the lawmaker, who is also a member of the House Catering and Health Club Committee, was shut down by Speaker Justin Muturi who stated that the House had more pressing issues to discuss.

“Honourable Pukose, surely there are matters that belong to other forums, this is the Plenary of the National Assembly, we cannot be here always talking about food.” Muturi stated.

Members of the August house are on record complaining over food served at the Assembly's cafeteria.

Last year Sirisia MP John Waluke was caught on camera expressing his dissatisfaction with the tea served at Parliament, claiming it did not have enough milk and sugar.
