Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has been heavily criticised after he appeared to dismiss CORD leader Raila Odinga and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria lunch date.
Murkomen was attacked after apparently insinuating that there was nothing special in the Wednesday event as politicians across the political divide mingled at the Parliamentary restaurant.
“Eating lunch together across the political divide is common among us. We do it often at the Parliamentary restaurant,” said Murkomen.
On Tuesday, Raila invited Kuria for lunch at K'Osewe restaurant in Nairobi where they were joined by other legislators who were last week arrested over alleged hate speech.
The message angered a section of Kenyans on social media who accused him of being malicious instead of looking at the importance of the lunch date as a uniting factor.
Some accused the Senator of seeking attention.
